Commonwealth Bank last issued Hong Kong dollar denominated bonds back in late November when it issued HKD$100 million (AUD$18 million) worth of 5 year bonds at a yield to maturity of 2.265%. The bank has returned to the Hong Kong market to issue HKD$160 million (AUD$29 million) worth of 10 year bonds with a 277bps coupon.
Commonwealth Bank is not alone in Hong Kong bond issuance. ANZ issued HKD$365 million (AUD$66 million) worth of 5 years bonds there in December and Macquarie issued HKD$100 million (AUD$18 million) of 3 year bonds in November.
