Summary: Moderate number of rate changes; 24 increases, 22 decreases; ANZ trims rates; significant rate changes from Bendigo/Rural; Judo offers highest rate in survey.
There were a moderate number of rate changes made by banks, building societies and other approved deposit-taking institutions (ADIs) in this week’s YieldReport survey. Of the 46 changes which took place, 24 took the form of rate increases.
One of the major banks changed their term deposit rates this week. ANZ trimmed the rates on most of its offered terms by either 5bps or 10bps.
Among the smaller ADIs, the most significant changes came from Bendigo Bank and its subsidiary Rural Bank. Both banks hiked their respective 6-month rate by 285bps. They also both rates their 1-year rates by 30bps.
