Summary: Large number of rate changes; 64 increases, 15 decreases; notable changes made by IMB, HSBC, Macquarie Bank; AMP offers highest rate in survey.
There were a large number of rate changes made by banks, building societies and other approved deposit-taking institutions (ADIs) in this week’s YieldReport survey. Of the 79 changes, 64 took the form of rate increases.
None of the four major banks changed their respective term deposit rates this week.
Among the smaller ADIs, the most notable changes came from IMB, HSBC and Macquarie Bank. IMB’s and HSBC’s changes were noteworthy for the size of their increases. Macquarie’s changes were noteworthy because they were all rate reductions.
