Summary: Small number of rate changes; 2 reductions, 8 increases; no changes from major banks; notable changes from Bank of Sydney, Teachers Mutual; highest rate in survey remains at 5.25%.
There were a small number of rate changes made by banks, building societies and other approved deposit-taking institutions (ADIs) again in this week’s YieldReport survey. Eight of the ten changes took the form of rate increases.
None of the major banks changed its term-deposit rates.
Among the smaller ADIs, the most notable set of changes came from the Bank of Sydney. Its 4-month rate was raised by 90bps while rates on its 3-month and 9-month terms were reduced by 10bps and 75bps respectively.
Other notable changes were made by the Teachers Mutual Bank. Its 3-month, 4-month and 5-month rates were each raised by 20bps while its 6-month rate was increased by 30bps.
