Summary: Small number of rate changes; 4 reductions, 8 increases; no changes from major banks; other noteworthy changes from Suncorp; highest rate in survey unchanged at 6.00%.
There were a small number of rate changes made by banks, building societies and other approved deposit-taking institutions (ADIs) again in this week’s YieldReport survey. 8 of the 12 changes took the form of rate increases.
None of the major banks changed its term-deposit rates.
Among the smaller ADIs, the most noticeable set of changes came from Suncorp Bank. It hiked its 3-month rate by 140bps and cut its 4-month rate by the same amount. It also raised its 6-month rate and 9-month rates by 115bps and 65bps respectively.
There were a few other changes but they were not particularly noteworthy.
