Summary: Modest number of rate changes; 7 reductions, 9 increases; noteworthy changes from Horizon; highest rate in survey unchanged at 5.10%.
There were a modest number of rate changes made by banks, building societies and other approved deposit-taking institutions (ADIs) in this week’s YieldReport survey. Of the 16 changes which occurred, seven took the form of rate reductions.
None of the major banks changed its term-deposit rates.
Among the smaller ADIs, the most noticeable set of changes came from Horizon Credit Union. Rates on terms of 3 months, 1year and 2 years were all lowered by 10bps while it 3-year rate was cut by 20bps.
