Summary: Modest number of rate changes this week; 8 increases, 16 reductions; noticeable rate changes made by Macquarie, P&N, Judo, Rabobank; Bank of Sydney, ING Direct share highest rate in survey.
There were a modest number of rate changes made by banks, building societies and other approved deposit-taking institutions (ADIs) in this week’s YieldReport survey. Of the 24 changes which took place, 16 were in the form of rate reductions.
None of the major banks changed their term-deposit rates this week.
Among the smaller ADIs, the most notable changes came Macquarie Bank. Its 6-month, 9-month and 1-year rates were lowered by 10bps, while longer-term deposit rates were reduced by amounts from 30bps to 40bps.
Other changes of notes came from P&N Bank, Judo Bank and Rabobank.
