Summary: Modest number of rate changes; 19 increases, zero reductions; notable changes from Bankwest; ING direct now has highest rate in survey.
There were a modest number of changes made by banks, building societies and other approved deposit-taking institutions (ADIs) in this week’s YieldReport survey. All 19 took the form of rate increases.
One of the major banks changed its term-deposit rates this week. NAB raised its 1-year rate by 25bps.
Among the smaller ADIs, the most notable changes came from Bankwest. Is 3-month, 6-month and 9-month rates were each increased by 25bps while its 1-year and 2-year rates were raised by 15bps and 85bps respectively.
