Summary: Small number of rate changes; 7 increases, 9 reductions; ANZ reduces some rates; notable rate changes from Horizon; Bank Australia has highest rate in survey.
There were a small number of changes made by banks, building societies and other approved deposit-taking institutions (ADIs) in this week’s YieldReport survey. Of the 16 which occurred, nine took the form of rate reductions.
One of the major banks changed its term-deposit rates this week. ANZ trimmed 5bps from its 1-month, 2-month and 1 -year rates and lowered its 4-month and 2-year rates by 60bps and 50bps respectively.
Among the smaller ADIs, the most notable changes came from Horizon Credit Union. Its 3-month and 6-month rates were increased by 30bps while its 1-year rate was raised by 15bps.
