Summary: Modest number of rate changes; 7 increases, 29 reductions; notable rate changes from AMP Bank, ING; Military Bank has highest rate in survey.
There were a modest number of changes made by banks, building societies and other approved deposit-taking institutions (ADIs) in this week’s YieldReport survey. Of the 36 which occurred, 29 took the form of rate reductions.
None of the major banks changed their term-deposit rates this week.
Among the smaller ADIs, the most notable changes came from AMP Bank. Rates on terms of 3-months to 5-years were lowered by amounts ranging from 25bps to 50bps.
ING’s changes were smaller and not as broad. All of Its offered terms had their respective rates lowered by amounts ranging from 15bps to 25bps.
