Summary: Moderate number of rate changes; 9 increases, 24 reductions; notable rate changes from Police Bank, Bank of Sydney, Arab Bank; Military Bank has highest rate in survey.
There were a moderate number of rate changes made by banks, building societies and other approved deposit-taking institutions (ADIs) in this week’s YieldReport survey. Of the 33 changes which took place, 24 took the form of rate reductions.
None of the major banks changed their term-deposit rates this week.
Among the smaller ADIs, the most notable changes came from Police Bank. Its 5-month and 9-month rate were both hiked by 110bps and 170bps.
Other notable changes was made by Bank of Sydney and Arab Bank Australia.
