Summary: Small number of rate changes; 9 increases, 12 reductions; ANZ raise some rates; notable rate changes from Bank of Sydney, ING Bank; AMP Bank has highest rate in survey.
There were a small number of rate changes made by banks, building societies and other approved deposit-taking institutions (ADIs) in this week’s YieldReport survey. Of the 21 changes which took place, 12 took the form of rate reductions.
One of the major banks changed its term-deposit rates this week. ANZ raised its 6-month and 1-year rates by 30bps and 10bps respectively.
Among the smaller ADIs, the most notable changes came from Bank of Sydney. Its rates on terms of 1 month, 2 months and 3 months were each cut by 100bps, 110bps and 15bps respectively while 5-month and 6-month rates were reduced by 105bps and 15bps respectively.
Another notable set of changes was made by ING Bank. Its rates on 3-month, 4-month, 9-month and 2-year deposits were all increased by 20bps while 6-month and 1-year deposit rates were raised by 15bps and 25bps respectively.
