Australian shares are set to open lower, with ASX futures down 0.38% or 32 points as of 8:00am Tuesday.
U.S. stocks rose following a speech by Fed Chair Jerome Powell, who hinted at a 0.25% rate cut at the next two meetings. The S&P 500 gained 0.4%, ending the quarter up 5.5%, while the Nasdaq added 0.4% and the Dow rose slightly.
In commodities, Brent crude rose 0.2% to US$71.77 a barrel, and gold held steady at US$2,633.58. The Australian dollar was at 69.12 US cents.
