Summary: Very small number of rate changes; 3 reductions, 3 increases; no changes from major banks; notable changes from Bank of Sydney; highest rate in survey remains at 5.25%.
There were a very small number of rate changes made by banks, building societies and other approved deposit-taking institutions (ADIs) again in this week’s YieldReport survey. Three of the six changes took the form of rate increases.
None of the major banks changed their term-deposit rates.
Among the smaller ADIs, the most notable set of changes came from Bank of Sydney. Rates on its 3-month, 6-month and 12-month terms were reduced by 10bps, 5bps and 25bpps respectively.
Generally modest changes were also made by Bankwest and IMB.
