Summary: Small number of rate changes; 6 reductions, 1 increase; Commonwealth raises 3-month rate; only other changes from BoQ, BoQ Specialist, ME Bank; highest rate in survey unchanged at 5.15%.
There were a small number of rate changes made by banks, building societies and other approved deposit-taking institutions (ADIs) in this week’s YieldReport survey. Six of the seven changes took the form of rate reductions.
One of the major banks changed just one of its various term-deposit rates. Commonwealth Bank raised its 3-month rate by 5bps.
Among the smaller ADIs, the only changes came from the Bank of Queensland, its subsidiary, ME Bank and BoQ Specialist. All three ADIs cut their rates on their 4-month deposits by 15bps and trimmed the rate on their respective 6-month deposits by 5bps.
