Summary: Small number of rate changes; 6 reductions, 7 increases; notable changes from P&N, AMP Bank; highest rate in survey steady at 5.15%.
There were a small number of rate changes made by banks, building societies and other approved deposit-taking institutions (ADIs) again in this week’s YieldReport survey. 7 of the 13 changes took the form of rate increases.
None of the major banks changed their term-deposit rates.
Among the smaller ADIs, the most notable set of changes came from P&N Bank. It raised its 4-month rate by 90bps but cut its 5-month rate by the same amount. It also raised its 6-month rate by 55bps.
AMP Bank’s changes were broader but smaller overall. It raised its 6-month and 12-month rates by 10bps and 15bps respectively and trimmed its 2-year rate by 5bps. Rates on terms of 3-years and longer were all cut by 30bps.
