Summary: Modest number of rate changes; 14 reductions, 3 increases; No changes by major banks; notable changes from P&N Bank; highest rate in survey remains at 5.00%.
There were a modest number of rate changes, 17 in total, made by banks, building societies and other approved deposit-taking institutions (ADIs) again in this week’s YieldReport survey. 14 of the 17 changes took the form of rate reductions.
None of the major banks changed their respective term-deposit rates.
Among the smaller ADIs, the most notable set of changes came from P&N Bank, with most of its rates lowered by amounts ranging from 20bps to 50bps. Police Bank, BankVic and Macquarie Bank also made a few, generally modest, rate changes.
