US MARKET

This follows a decline in US stocks ahead of key corporate earnings, where the Nasdaq dropped 1.2%, the Dow fell 0.9%, and the S&P 500 lost 1%, reversing gains from Friday’s strong jobs report.
In the commodity markets, Brent crude surged 3.8% to US$81.03 per barrel, while gold held steady at US$2,642.74. The Australian dollar weakened to 67.56 US cents, down from 67.91.
