Summary: Small number of rate changes; 9 reductions, 6 increases; notable changes from Bank of Sydney, Bank of Bendigo; highest rate in survey steady at 5.15%.
There were a small number of rate changes made by banks, building societies and other approved deposit-taking institutions (ADIs) again in this week’s YieldReport survey. 9 of the 15 changes took the form of rate decreases.
None of the major banks changed their term-deposit rates.
Among the smaller ADIs, the most notable set of changes came from the Bank of Sydney. It raised its 4-month rate by 60bps but cut its 6-month rate by the same amount.
The Bank of Bendigo’s changes were a little broader. It raised its 6-month and 9-month rates by 40bps but also cut its 1-year and 3-year rates by 15bps.
